Manchester United fans had arranged a banner reading 'Come Home Ronaldo' flying over Villareal's El Madrigal during the match against Real Madrid on Saturday.
However, Ronaldo reacted with barely a shrug upon seeing the banner, which is the latest attempt by United fans to lure their former player back to Old Trafford.
The banner was put together by global supporters group United Reel, who received donations from across the world to help fund the doomed project.
Ronaldo has been continuously linked with a return to United, who reportedly would have to sum up a package of £140 million to sign him, but once again dismissed a return earlier this week.
The United banner follows on from on in March which read 'Wrong One – Moyes Out' in an attempt to persuade the club to sack David Moyes.
The Scot was eventually sacked by the club a few weeks later and United's fans hope their new Ronaldo-banner could have a similar impact.
Ronaldo, however, focussed on his game and scored his tenth La Liga goal for Real Madrid in his best ever start into a season.
