Real Madrid superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, has added another prestigious award to his trophy cabinet after beating Eusebio and Luis Figo to be named the best player in Portugal's history.
Ronaldo beat the two Portuguese legends in voting as part of the commemorations of the 100th anniversary of the Portuguese Football Federation.

Eusebio became famous at the 1966 World Cup after leading his country to a third place finish, scoring nine goals and winning the Golden Boot.
He was also named European Player of the Year (predecessor of the Ballon d'Or) in 1965 and is regarded as one of the greatest players of all time.
Figo won the 2000 Ballon d'Or and the 2001 FIFA World Player of the Year as well the UEFA Champions League with Real Madrid in 2002 among many other accolades.
Despite winning the award, Ronaldo wasn't able to attend the ceremony because of his side's preparations for the Copa del Rey clash with Atletico Madrid.

Both, FIFA president, Sepp Blatter, and UEFA president, Michel Platini, were at the ceremony to honour Ronaldo.
