Italian giants Juventus have been urged to sell Cristiano Ronaldo at the end of the season due to his astronomical wages and bonuses.
Ronaldo Blamed For Juve's Shock UCL Elimination
The Bianconeri were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League this week at the hands of Porto, who advanced through to the quarter-final of the competition on away goals.
In the aftermath of yet another European failure for Juve, many have claimed this could be Ronaldo's last season in Italy, mainly due to the financial strain the Old Lady has taken in the coronavirus pandemic.
Speaking about the 36-year-old's situation, ex-Juventus president Giovanni Gigli believes the club should look to cut ties with the former Real Madrid forward.
"Absolutely, yes! (signing him was a mistake)" he told Radio Punto Nuovo.
"I said that on his very first day at Juventus. He is a great champion, but is too expensive.
"Now it's up to Juventus. They've been paying him €1m per goal. (Juve president Andrea) Agnelli must be self-critical, but he doesn't have great collaborators.
"The club should free Ronaldo at the end of the season and the same goes for (Fabio) Paratici. Maybe Agnelli had promoted him to remove him from his position afterwards. This could be the scenario."
