One of Juventus' senior players has opened up about superstar Cristiano Ronaldo's hard-working ways, and even likened the five-time Ballon d'Or winner to legendary sprinter Usain Bolt and tennis icon Roger Federer.
Neymar Far Ahead Of Ronaldo At His Age
Defender Giorgio Chiellini has been a stalwart for the Bianconeri since his arrival in Turin from Fiorentina in 2005.
The 34-year-old, who was Gianluigi Buffon's natural successor when it came to inheriting the leadership duties at the club from the goalkeeper when he left for Paris Saint-Germain, has now spoken about taking over the captain's armband, and how, in the process, is he learning from others in the dressing room, including Ronaldo.
"Replacing Buffon is not easy at all," Chiellini told La Stampa.
"As captain, you do not need to do the jobs of the others.
"But you have to help maintain a balance (in the squad), and in a multi-cultural dressing room, which includes many different backgrounds, habits and religions, it's not always easy, but sharing that (environment) is beautiful.
"You become a leader. I am a curious person, a good observer and I like learning. For example, having Ronaldo close to me is interesting.
"He is like Bolt and Federer. Understanding the habits of those who have that extra gear helps. It is not to imitate him, but rather it helps to broaden my horizons (as captain)."
