The Red Devils saw their chances of securing a top four spot in the 2018/19 EPL campaign end after playing to a 1-1 draw against relegated Huddersfield Town on Sunday afternoon.
According to a Football Leaks report that was cited by Daily Mail, due to a clause attached in the majority of the club's big-name players' contracts, a number of first-team stars are set to lose 25% of their wages for finishing outside the top four.
It has been claimed that former Arsenal star Sanchez and 2018 FIFA World Cup winner Pogba are the players who will be most affected by the clause.
Sanchez, who is the club's biggest earner with a weekly wage of £500 000 (R9.4 million), is set to lose out on £125 000 (R2.4 million) a week, with his new wage set to be slashed to £375 000 (R7.1 million).
Pogba, who is the subject of a rumoured move to Zinedine Zidane's Real Madrid, is expected to go from a weekly wage of £300 000(R5.7 million) to £225 000 (R4.2 million).
The Football Leaks report also suggested that the former Juventus midfielder's revenue from commercial rights will decrease from £3.125 million (R59 million) to £2.87 million (R54 million) due to United's inability to qualify for the elite club competition next season.
Other players in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side whose pay will reportedly be affected include Romelu Lukaku, David de Gea and Fred.
The latest development is seen as a step in the right direction in Los Blancos' reported pursuit of Pogba, with Spanish giants initially said to have been put off by the Frenchman's financial demands.
