With the pressure rising on Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier, Thomas Tuchel could reportedly be poised for a spectacular return to the French capital.
Les Parisiens are currently not in their best moment, having lost three successive matches, against rivals Olympique Marseille, AS Monaco and most recently Bayern Munich in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie.
This is the first time this has happened since 2011, in the infancy of Qatari Sports Investment's project with the record Ligue 1 champions, and Galtier will be under no illusions that his job could be under serious threat.
According to RMC Sport, the Frenchman's position is safe until the second leg against the Bavarians, but there are other managers waiting in the wings to possibly take his place, one of whom has already sat in the dugout at the Parc des Princes, namely Thomas Tuchel.
The German tactician reportedly still has supporters within the French side's dressing room despite having left the club almost three years ago.
The 49-year-old has been out of football management since September 2022, when he was sacked by Chelsea following a 1-0 defeat to Dinamo Zagreb, but is the only manager to have successfully led PSG to a UEFA Champions League final and with that trophy still eluding the Ligue 1 champions, the former Borussia Dortmund boss could now be poised for a return to Paris.
Messi 'Tempted' To Join Shock Club
Tuchel is not the only manager with admirers at the club, though, with some said to be favouring the idea of bringing Zinedine Zidane in.
The 1998 Ballon d'Or winner was reportedly who the Qatari ownership wanted to bring in at the beginning of the season, but on the advice of new sporting director Luis Campos, appointed Galtier instead.
