The 18-year-old has been heavily tipped to join Les Parisiens of late, despite reports of Los Blancos manager Zinedine Zidane's interest in him.
Silva, who has been in France since 2012, has now hailed the Monaco attacker's ability, saying he is impressed with the player's maturity.
"He always wants to score, he has a dribbling quality," he told French television programme Canal Football Club.
"I think PSG is a team that likes this type of players.
"He could become a very important and very interesting player for the group. I see on TV that he has (a good) head on his shoulders."
Mbappe contributed to 40 goals in 44 matches for Monaco last season.
