Ligue 1
Result: Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 OGC Nice
Date: 27 October 2017
Venue: Parc de Princes
Edinson Cavani netted a brace to inspire Paris Saint-Germain to a 3-0 win over Mario Balotelli's Nice on Friday evening.
Unai Emery was without the services of Neymar, who served a one-game suspension.
Cavani made a dream start for the Parisians, as found the back of the net in the third minute with a header at the near post following an assist by Àngel Di Maria.
Cavani and Di Maria combined again on 30 minutes with the former beating the offside trap to poke home his second goal of the match after being put through by the latter with a dink over the defence.
Unai Emery's charges were cruising as they showed their superiority going into the halftime break.
The Ligue 1 leaders were gifted a third goal, as Nice defender Dante bundled the ball into his own net in the 52nd minute following a pull-back header by Cavani, 3-0.
After 65 minutes the Parisians were still dominating, as Nice were finding it tough to get their attacking game going.
For Lucien Favre, it was more of damage limitation going into the last 15 minutes of the match with the flow of the match being interrupted by numerous substitutions.
The Parisians kept it tight towards the end to claim three points to move seven points ahead of Monaco at the top of the French Ligue 1 standings.
