Dani Alves bagged a goal and an assist on his Paris Saint-Germain debut, as they defeated AS Monaco 2-1 to lift the French Super Cup on Saturday evening.
Alves was handed his full PSG debut and started on the right side of the attack, alongside Javier Pastore and Edinson Cavani.
Monaco broke the deadlock with their first meaningful chances in the 30th minute as Sidibe latched onto a pass from Youri Teilemans before lobbing Areola.
PSG looked to hit back straight away and they went close in the 37th minute when Cavani's free-kick from 25-yards out sailed just over the crossbar.
Unai Emery's charges should have leveled matters on the stroke of halftime but Marquinhos failed to fire home from six-yards out.
However, PSG were level shortly after the halftime break as Alves marked his debut with a goal by rifling the ball into the top corner, 1-1.
The Paris outfit then took the lead after 63 minutes as Alves turned provider to pick out Adrien Rabiot, who headed home from close range.
Monaco nearly pulled level on 80 minutes, but PSG goalkeeper Areola produced a fine save to keep out Guido Carrillo's header.
Radamel Falcao then squandered a chance to level matters in the 88th minute, as he failed to direct his close-range header on target.
PSG managed to see off a late surge from the Ligue 1 champions to claim the win and the cup.
