Paris Saint-Germain have won the Coupe De France for a record 11th time, after they defeated Angers 1-0 in the final on Saturday evening.
The match started with the Parisians swarming into the opposition territory with clear intentions of grabbing an early lead.
In the ninth minute Angel Di Maria found space on the right flank and tried to squeeze his shot at the near post but goalkeeper Alexandre Letellier had it covered.
Di Maria released Edinson Cavani inside the box after 20 minutes and the striker tried to lob Letellier but the shot-stopper read the move well as he parried the shot away.
Les Scoisters came into life after 31 minutes. Issa Cissokho had a brilliant run on the right wing and sent a brilliant cross into the box. Famara Diedhiou connected well with a header but only for Alphonse Areola to smother the ball in the middle of the goals.
Cavani had a brilliant shot from just outside the box after making a good turn but his shot went agonisingly wide just before the halftime break.
The match went into the interval logged at 0-0.
The two teams could not get any momentum in their play in the opening 20 minutes of the second half and the intensity of the first half especially from Unai Emery's side had slowed down.
Blaise Matuidi had a chance to break the deadlock on 69 minutes after being setup by Cavani but his shot from inside the box missed the target to go inches wide.
In the 81st minute , Di Maria whipped in a brilliant free-kick that found the head of Cavani, but the ball sailed inches over the crossbar.
With extra time looming, PSG secured the win in stoppage time when Angers' Cissokho deflected Di Maria's cross into his own net.
