On the same night the attacking right-back was chosen to be included in FIFPRO'S World XI, some disturbing news emerged regarding the Madrid-born defender.
According to Le Parisien, French prosecutors have opened an investigation into an alleged rape relating to the PSG man.
A 24-year-old woman went to a Paris police station this past weekend, not to file charges against the former Real Madrid and Inter Milan star but to instead make a statement regarding the events of the past weekend.
The pair reportedly initiated contact on Instagram on 16 January, but it was not until 25 February that they actually met up.
The same report suggests that the woman made her way to Hakimi's home in an Uber that he paid for, and it is at his house where the rape is alleged to have occurred.
The 24-year-old defender is said to have made sexual advances on the woman even after she refused, with the lady then believed to have fled the Moroccan's home and after contacting a friend, went to the police station on Sunday.
