FC Barcelona legend Samuel Eto'o, considered among the greatest African footballers ever to have played the beautiful game, had some special praise for the Catalan club's Guinea-Bissau-born teenage sensation Ansu Fati recently.
African Wonderkid Writes More History For Barca
With 12 minutes to go in Barca's first home LaLiga game of the season against Real Betis last month, 16-year-old winger Fati came off the bench for a cameo that would impress his coaches and teammates, as well as the rest of the world.
In the club's next game, away at Osasuna, Fati was again introduced as a substitute, and this time found the back of the net, becoming the club's youngest ever goalscorer in doing so.
The teenager was then a handed a start at home against Valencia last weekend, scoring and assisting in the opening seven minutes of the Blaugrana's 5-2 victory over Los Che.
With Fati starting against Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night, Eto'o has since stated that he has been stunned by what he has seen from the young starlet, whom he believes can go very far.
"What we're seeing with Fati, I don't even think God knows," Eto'o said, according to Radio Barcelona.
"He's very good, he doesn't have one pair, he's got two pairs (of balls), this kid has a lot of personality.
"I wish him the best and above all he doesn't get injured for his progress."
