Spanish giants FC Barcelona are reportedly "just one step away" from securing their first signing of the January transfer window.
According to Sport, the Catalan giants are said to be moving in on Manchester City centre-back Eric Garcia.
The Spaniard, who came through Barcelona's youth academy, was close to returning in the previous transfer window, but City would not allow him to leave for less than their asking price.
Amid his links with Barcelona, Garcia decided against signing a contract renewal at the Citizens, which means his current deal will expire this year.
It is claimed that the young defender is ready to sign a five-and-a-half year deal with his boyhood club in a move that will see him make the switch in January.
Reports have also stated that the LaLiga giants will be able to pay his transfer fee later than this month.
Garcia has played just seven matches in all competitions this season for City, whom he joined in 2017 from Barcelona's youth academy.
