The 33-year-old announced his departure from the Catalan giants last week Friday, but didn't reveal which new club he will join.

However, widespread reports suggest Iniesta will move to China and Spanish publication El Mundo believe he will accept an eye-watering offer from Chongqing Dangdai Lifan.

The Chinese side's chairman has a 60 percent stake in Italian Serie B side Parma and owns Spanish Segunda Division side Granada.

It is claimed Lifan will offer Iniesta €81 million in wages over three years, which would mean he would earn a whopping €27 million (R408 million) per year.

The reported offer would make Iniesta the third-highest paid player in football and see him earn more than five-time Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo, who currently pockets €21 million (R317 million) in basic salary.

In addition, the Chinese side are reportedly also prepared to cede 50 percent of Iniesta's image rights back to him and buy six million bottles of the wine his family business produces in his home village Fuentealbilla.

Iniesta visited Chongqing last year to promote his academy and take part in some promotional events, which led to Chongqing Dangdai Lifan's main sponsor suggesting the Spaniard would join the club when he decides to leave Barcelona.
