Copa Del Rey

Result: Real Madrid 0-3 FC Barcelona (Barca won 4-1  on agg.)

Date: 27 February 2019

Venue: Santiago Bernabeu

FC Barcelona advanced to the final of the Copa Del Rey after thrashing arch-rivals Real Madrid 3-0 in the second-leg of the semi-final at the Santiago Bernabeu.   Los Blancos made just two changes from their narrow win over Levante this past weekend, as Keylor Navas, Raphael Varane stepped up to the fray, while Gareth Bale continued to start from the bench.   Vinicius Junior had the first real chance for Santiago Solari's charges in the 18th minute after finding himself with a lot space inside the box, but he blasted his effort over the bar.   Ernesto Valverde's men were attacking with great intensity towards the half-hour mark but they were struggling with the final ball as Madrid were compact at the back.   Vinicius had another great chance to break the deadlock for the hosts seven minutes before the break after receiving a pass from Sergio Reguilon inside the box but once  again the youngster blasted his effort over the bar.   Five minutes into the second half, Luis Suarez broke the deadlock for Barça with a clinical finish inside the box after some good work by Dembele on the right flank.   After constant pressure but no breakthrough for Los Blancos, Solari made his first change with 22 minutes remaining as Bale came on for Lucas Vazquez to refresh the attack.   However, a minute later Barca were gifted a second goal as Varane deflected the ball into his own trying to clear a cross by Dembele to give Blaugrana a 2-0 lead in the match.   It went from bad to worse for the hosts as they conceded a penalty in the 73rd minute. Suarez stepped up made no mistake from 12-yards out to complete his brace and extend the Catalan giants' lead.   Barça were long out of sight and managed to see out the final stages with relative ease, as Valverde's men claimed a 3-0 win on the night and a 4-1 win on aggregate.
