Former FC Barcelona star Samuel Eto'o is nearing a deal with an African club, confirmed the side's president.
Farag Amer, president of Egyptian club Smouha, revealed Eto'o could soon sign for his team, though negotiations have stalled.
"The player (Samuel Eto'o) was due to arrive in Egypt within days after reaching an agreement to sign him for one and a half year," he told Ahram Online.
"Negotiations were in progress but the player's agent suddenly asked us for a commission and a football injury insurance for the player.
"We will wait and see what will happen."
Eto'o currently plays for Turkish outfit, Antalyaspor, where he has found the net 13 times in 18 matches.
