The Red Devils have apparently agreed personal terms with Spanish striker Alvaro Morata, with the player dropping several hints on social media that he will be at United in the coming season.
The 24-year-old will reportedly cost €70 million (R1 billion), according to the Daily Mirror, which would make him the most expensive Spanish player in history.
The previous record deal for a Spaniard was Fernando Torres' Deadline Day move from Liverpool to Chelsea for €58.5 million (R847 million) in 2011.
Morata's transfer to United could reportedly be announced this week, and would make him Mourinho's second signing of the window after the club announced, over the past weekend, that centre back Victor Lindelof will join them from Benfica.
The forward will apparently become Mourinho's main striker after it was confirmed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic was on the Premier League's released players list on Friday.

Morata scored 20 goals in 43 games for Los Blancos last season, finishing the 2016/17 campaign as Real's second best goalscorer behind Cristiano Ronaldo.
