Report: Real Madrid Star Agrees Terms With Manchester United

A Real Madrid star has reportedly agreed personal terms with Manchester United and told close friends he will wear the Red Devils shirt next season, according to The Telegraph.

Jose Mourinho's side apparently want to bring in a new No. 9 after it was confirmed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic's expiring deal will not be extended.

The English publication has claimed that Morata is United's top attacking target, and has agreed a deal in principle.

United, though, still need to agree terms on a transfer fee with Los Blancos after an initial £52.3 million (R857 million) bid was reportedly rejected.

The Telegraph suggested that United will go back and offer £60 million (R984 million) for the 24-year-old, which the club apparently believes will be enough to tempt Real to sell.

Morata has also reportedly told close friends he will be playing for United next season, and is looking forward to working under Mourinho.

The Spaniard apparently believes he will get more first team football at United than in Zinedine Zidane's squad, which will enhance his prospects of becoming Spain's main striker at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The player's agent, Juanma Lopez, recently stated that Morata is likely to leave the Santiago Bernabeu in order to gain more regular game time.

"He doesn't want to go through another season like that," Lopez said, as quoted by The Telegraph.

"It was a great season, but he wants to play more.

"Alvaro is a player who wants to play a more important role. He wants to play more.

"That's normal for a striker who's scored 19 goals. It's not enough."

Morata scored 20 goals in 43 games for Real last season, with only Cristiano Ronaldo beating his goals return at the club.
