Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano confirmed on X that MLS side Chicago Fire were the first team to make an approach for the player.
"De Bruyne will assess all options in the next days and weeks, but Chicago Fire are now showing strong interest with a specific project to attract KDB. Deal on," the Italian said.
The Belgian international announced at the beginning of April that he will leave The Citizens at the end of the 2024/25 season once his contract expires.
The former Chelsea midfielder has been an integral part of Manchester City's success under Pep Guardiola and has won 16 trophies during his 10 seasons with the Manchester side, with a possibility to add the FA Cup to that list before the end of the season.
