The Catalan giants' transfer ban was lifted at the beginning of 2016, so Barcelona are now allowed to sign players again.
The registration of Arda Turan and Aleix Vidal has already helped Luis Enrique improve the balance of his squad.
However, the FIFA World Coach of the Year remains keen to bring in more options in case Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez or Neymar get injured or need a rest.
"If players were to arrive, I would like them up front," he confirmed at a news conference on Tuesday.
According to Spanish news outlet AS, Enrique's first choice would be Celta Vigo winger Nolito. It has been reported that he could join the Catalans on an initial loan deal, with an option to purchase at the end of this season
The club's second choice is former Barcelona B winger Denis Suarez, whom they have a reported buyback option on. The 22-year-old left the club in July 2014 and has since impressed for Sevilla and Villarreal, and his performances for the latter, in particular, have reportedly awoken Enrique's interest, with it being claimed that the coach has personally contacted the player.
However, Barcelona reportedly only have room to register one more player in January, unless they sell one of Douglas or Sandro.

Long-term targets on Enrique's wish list reportedly include Schalke starlet Leroy Sane, who has also been linked with Real Madrid and Manchester City, and Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey.
The Blaugrana tactician is apparently a huge fan of the Gunners' Welshman, but both he and Sane would cost the club too much to be targeted in January.
