The German giants announced the successful transfer of Swedish striker Alexander Isak, subject to clearance by FIFA, on Monday.
Isak, who became the youngest debutant in Swedish national team history a few weeks ago, was heavily linked with a move to Los Blancos, but has now opted for Dortmund instead.
"Alexander Isak is a hugely talented striker, who many top clubs in Europe wanted to sign. We are delighted that he has chosen Borussia Dortmund. Both BVB and the player himself are convinced that this transfer has great potential," Michael Zorc, Dortmund's sporting director, said in a statement on the German club's official website.

The tall striker, who has often been compared to Ibrahimovic, made his debut for previous club AIK Solna at the age of just 16.
He had since scored 13 goals in 29 appearances for the Swedish side, and will now wear the No. 14 shirt at Dortmund.
All parties decided to not disclose Isak's transfer fee, but Transfermarkt suggest that Dortmund paid about €9 million (R130 million) for the teenager.

Following the arrivals of Ousmane Dembele (19), Raphael Guerreiro (22), Emre More (18) and Mikel Merino (20), Isak is the fifth Dortmund signing younger than 23 years old this season.
