The Colombian forward reportedly cost €42 million, making his the most expensive deal that took place in the most recent transfer window.
In addition, the 29-year-old also became the record transfer in China, beating Ramires' €28 million move from Chelsea to Jiangsu Suning.
Martinez joined Atletico from FC Porto for €35 million at the beginning of this season, but scored just three goals in 22 appearances for Diego Simeone's team.
