Asamoah Gyan reportedly earns a whopping £227 000 per week with Chinese outfit Shanghai SIPG.

However, West Ham United are now allegedly keen to bring the former Sunderland striker back to England's top flight.

According to Ghanaweb, Slaven Bilic is a huge admirer of the Ghana striker and would love to sign him as back up for the injury-prone Andy Carrol.

It is suggested that would be prepared to offer Gyan a salary of £100 000, which would be less than half of what he is currently earning in China.

Shanghai SIPG finished second last season and the new campaign will start in February/March.

It is yet to be seen whether the side of former England manager Sven Goran Eriksson would sell the 30-year-old, who has scored 10 goals in 17 appearances for the club.
