Zinedine Zidane did superbly to rotate his squad in order to keep everyone in perfect shape as they competed for the double in the 2016/17 campaign.
However, some players did not play as much as they would have wanted, and the club is now looking to get them off the wage bill, according to AS.
James Rodriguez was left out of Real's matchday squad for the Champions League final, despite being one of only three players at the club to have reached double figures in both goals and assists in the latest campaign. The Colombian has been linked with moves to Manchester United, Chelsea, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain, among others.
Meanwhile, defender Pepe's contract is set to expire this month, and it seems the club and player could not agree to a new deal, with him being closely linked with a free transfer to PSG.
Fabio Coentrao is also set to leave the Santiago Bernabeu after struggling for game time under Zidane. The left back has reportedly already agreed to a loan deal with Sporting Lisbon.
Right back Danilo is one of the few players who have not shone much this season. He has been linked with moves to Inter Milan and FC Porto, but Real will want to recoup most of the €31.5 million (R455 million) they paid for him.
Shot-stopper Keylor Navas did not have the best of seasons, and Real president Florentino Perez is apparently keen on signing a new goalkeeper, with David de Gea, Thibaut Courtois and Gianluigi Donnarumma being linked with Los Blancos.
Alvaro Morata has publicly stated that he is keen to stay despite often playing second fiddle in the biggest games. However, with the 2018 FIFA World Cup approaching and some of Europe's biggest clubs interested, he could be tempted away from the Madrid team, with the club said to be keen to cash in on the striker.
