6 Striker Targets On Jose Mourinho's Wish List

6 Striker Targets On Jose Mourinho's Wish List

With Manchester United reportedly no longer chasing Antoine Griezmann, the following six strikers now appear to be main targets on Jose Mourinho's wish list, according to ESPN.

Griezmann was heavily linked with a move to United, but it seems the deal is off after Atletico Madrid's ban from the transfer market was upheld.

In addition, Zlatan Ibrahimovic's long-term injury has caused Mourinho to focus on bringing in a No. 9.

The Swede is not expected to return to first-team football until January 2018, and United are not expected to offer him a one-year extension as a result, with his contract expiring at the end of June.

With reported wages of more than £300 000 (R4.9 million), Ibrahimovic is arguably too expensive to sit on the bench for United.

Alvaro Morata is reportedly high on Mourinho's wish list, while Romelu Lukaku was also mentioned by ESPN. Both would reportedly cost in excess of €70 million (R1 billion).

Andrea Belotti is another name on the list, but Torino's president has insisted he will only be allowed to leave if a club meets his €85 million (R1.2 billion) buyout clause.

Kylian Mbappe has also been linked with a move to Old Trafford, although the latest reports suggest Real Madrid are his most likely destination. Any interested club would reportedly have to pay a world record fee of €130 million (R1.9 billion) to secure his services.

All of the abovementioned options would require a massive transfer fee, which has brought Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane back into the mix. Spurs are unlikely to sell one of their star players, but it will be interesting to see their reaction if United came forward with a world-record bid.

A cheaper alternative could be FC Porto striker Andre Silva. The 21-year-old netted 21 goals for the Portuguese club last season, and is also a client of Mourinho's agent, Jorge Mendes.
