The midfielder has struggled for regular game time since Zinedine Zidane took as head coach of Los Blancos.
However, James will reportedly move elsewhere in search of regular minutes and according to Marca, Manchester United, Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan are all interested in the midfielder's services.
France Football claim that PSG are favourites to land James, although they face stiff competition to agree terms with the player.
Bayern are another destination for the Colombian, as the player netted 17 goals for Los Blancos under Carlo Ancelotti.
Arsenal are also believed to be keen, but a move remains unlikely while Man United can offer Champions League football.
Rodriguez scored 11 goals and assisted a further 13 strikes in 33 matches for Los Blancos this past season.
