Senegal have confirmed that Bayern Munich winger Sadio Mane will play no part in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

It has been announced that the 30-year-old will not be fit enough to compete in the Middle East and, as a result, has been omitted from Senegal's squad for the tournament.
Mane sustained a knock while playing for Bayern Munich last week and has not been able to recover in time for the showpiece in Qatar.

The former Liverpool winger was massively influential in Senegal's qualification phase for the World Cup, while he was named the best player of the tournament as the Lions of Teranga claimed the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year.
