Barcelona head coach Xavi Hernandez has reportedly accepted a first-team player's request to leave the club just five months after signing him.
Barca 'Pleased' With African Star, Club Eager For His Return
According to Sport, the Catalan club is preparing to sell Spanish fullback Hector Bellerin to Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon less than six months after his arrival from Real Betis on a free transfer.
The two teams have already held discussions over a potential deal for the ex-Arsenal right-back, who was once considered among the best young wing-backs in European football.
Bellerin returned to his boyhood club at the beginning of the 2022/23 campaign to fulfil his dream of playing for the Blaugrana's senior team, but is now said to be willing to swap his home city for Lisbon.
It is claimed that Xavi and Bellerin have already held talks regarding the player's potential departure, with the head coach believed to have been understanding of his needs.
The 27-year-old has been a peripheral figure at the Camp Nou since his arrival in September, having made just seven appearances across all competitions so far.
Bellerin has, therefore, taken the opportunity to discuss his future with Xavi in an attempt to go to a club where he can find regular football, with Sporting a strong option amid rumours Pedro Porro could join Tottenham Hotspur before the window slams shut.
