Eden Hazard scored the game's only goal from the penalty spot to the Blues to a 1-0 win over the Red Devils on Saturday evening.
Chelsea are now tied for third with Tottenham Hotspur for most FA Cup titles (eight), four behind Man United and five adrift of Arsenal.
"You can see what it means to us, to the fans and to our staff," Chelsea's Gary Cahill told BBC Sport. "This was to save our season. We're used to winning. Not in an arrogant way but we have to win things. It's difficult to win back-to-back leagues. I'm not saying we've had a magnificent season by any stretch."
