The draw for the 2021/22 UEFA Europa League season took place this afternoon, with some of the sport's traditional heavyweights set to do battle!

After this season's UEFA Champions League draw was held in Istanbul on Thursday evening, it was time for the Europa League draw on Friday afternoon.
Following an incredible 2020/21 campaign, West Ham United qualified for a place in the tournament alongside some of the continent's biggest clubs, and have found themselves in Group H with teams David Moyes' side will be expected to beat.
For Brendan Rodgers' Leicester City, matters could be a little more complicated. The Foxes, in Group C, will take on Italian giants Napoli in what might be their trickiest fixture on paper, although trips to Moscow and Poland could provide a different challenge.
Ligue 1 stalwarts Olympique Lyon were drawn in Group A with Steven Gerrard's Rangers, while Bundesliga giants Bayer Leverkusen and SA-born defender Panagiotis Retsos will compete against the likes of Celtic and Real Betis in Group G.

At the event, Villarreal striker Gerard Moreno was named the 2020/21 UEFA Europa League Player of the Season, after he inspired his side to triumph in a 1-0 win over Manchester United in the final.
