The Red Devils, who were crowned champions of the competition in 2017, were handed a favourable draw alongside Astana, Partizan and AZ Alkmaar, but face the prospect of lengthy journeys to Kazakhstan and Serbia.
Record five-time winners Sevilla were also handed a fairly comfortable draw in Group A, having been handed ties against APOEL, Qarabag and Dudelange.
The ceremony also saw new Real Madrid signing Eden Hazard, who was part of the triumphant Chelsea side from last season, being crowned the 2018/19 Uefa Europa League Player of the Season.
