A football fan is believed to have lost a finger during West Ham United's UEFA Europa League match against Genk on Thursday night.

According to the Daily Mirror, a West Ham supporter lost a large chunk of his finger while celebrating one of the Hammers' goals in their 2-2 draw with Genk.

The part of his finger that had come off was then said to be placed on a fence separating supporters from the field at the Cegeka Arena in Belgium, while fellow fans ran to alert stewards.
A video doing the rounds on social media shows the finger being picked up and placed on the fence, with the unfortunate supporter said to have received medical treatment.
