Arsenal have snubbed one of their highest-paid stars for their 2020/21 UEFA Europa League squad.
According to the BBC, Germany star Mesut Ozil has been left out of the squad the Gunners have submitted for their campaign in Europe, despite the midfielder still being one of their highest-paid players.
The latest move has cast further doubt on the former Real Madrid man's future under manager Mikel Arteta, with Ozil having last played for the club in March.
The Gunners also added reinforcements to their midfield during the transfer window, including Thomas Partey, who arrived from Atletico Madrid.
The Ghanaian has been included in the team's UEL squad, with the London club having been drawn in Group B alongside Rapid Vienna, Dundalk and Molde.
Ozil made headlines earlier this week when he revealed on social media that he is willing to pay the salary of Jerry Quy, who took the role of the club mascot Gunnersaurus, for as long as he remained at the club.
Quy was one of 55 people who were retrenched by the club to help offset the financial fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic.
