Midfielder Donny van de Beek has struggled for regular game time since arriving at Old Trafford ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.
The Dutchman has started only two Premier League matches so far, with many questioning his signing because he tends to thrive in similar roles to Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba.
As a consequence, he is reportedly set for crunch talks with vice-chairman Ed Woodward, and it could be agreed that he will be allowed to leave once the season is finished.
Another player who never found his feet in Manchester is Alexis Sanchez. The Chilean arrived at the club in 2018, with United beating crosstown rivals Manchester City to his signature after offering him a whopping contract that made him the highest-paid player in the league.
However, despite his reported salary worth a mammoth £500 000 (R10.4 million) a week, Sanchez scored just five goals in 45 appearances for the Red Devils, becoming a shadow of his former self before being loaned out to Inter Milan.

Similar to Sanchez, Angel Di Maria arrived as marquee signing at Old Trafford after United paid Real Madrid a then club-record fee of €75 million (R1.3 billion) for his services.
Di Maria, though, never lived up to expectations and left after just one campaign, during which he scored only four goals. His time in Manchester was not made easier after his house was burgled – something he unfortunately experienced once again in Paris on the weekend.
