Arsenal have reportedly opened surprise talks with a former Chelsea star as they look to bolster their attack for the second half of the season.
Diego Costa is currently a free agent after parting ways with Brazil Serie A champions Atletico Mineiro and is said to be keen on returning to Europe.
The Sun, who cited Goal in Brazil, has now reported that the North London outfit has made an "informal consultation" with Mineiro to find out about the striker's immediate future.
Mineiro director of football Rodrigo Caetano revealed that Costa wanted to leave and secure a return to Europe.
"He stayed with us until the end, he was a very important piece, athlete competitive. He was afraid of this long period that he stayed in Europe, he made it clear that at some point, if he didn't feel comfortable, we could make an agreement of this type.
"We accepted the request and we are building the best agreement for all parties. We appreciate his delivery and this period with us."
