Liverpool 5-1 Tottenham Hotspur
Liverpool have officially been crowned the 2024/25 Premier League champions after thrashing Tottenham Hotspur 5-1 on Sunday evening.
It was Spurs who broke the deadlock on 11 minutes when former Reds striker Dominic Solanke rose highest to head home a corner from James Maddison.
The lead did not last too long as the Reds pulled themselves level six minutes later when Luis Diaz turned home Dominik Szoboszlai's low cross in the six-yard area.
Liverpool completed the turnaround on 25 minutes after Alexis Mac Allister picked up a loose ball just outside the area and unleashed a powerful strike into the top corner.
Arne Slot's men extended their advantage ten minutes before the break as Cody Gakpo carved out some space in the box before firing into the far corner for his eighth league goal of the campaign.
The fourth goal arrived after the hour mark as Mohamed Salah ended his five-game drought by cutting inside and firing into the bottom corner.
Liverpool were gifted a fifth goal in the 70th minute when Destiny Udogie deflected Trent Alexander-Arnold's cross into his own net with Salah lurking, rounding off a great afternoon for the club.
Bournemouth 1-1 Manchester United
Manchester United struck late in the second half to rescue a point against ten-man AFC Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon.
Ruben Amorim recalled the regulars after last week's loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers, which included handing Luke Shaw his first league start of the year as he came in for the injured Diogo Dalot.
It was the home side who broke the deadlock on 23 minutes with the first big chance as Evanilson did well to tee up Antoine Semenyo, who rifled the ball home from close-range.
The Red Devils nearly levelled matters in the 37th minute when Bruno Fernandes' long-ball found the run of Alejandro Garnacho, who saw his attempted lob tipped away by Kepa Arrizabalaga.
While United struggled to carve out more chances, Bournemouth went close to doubling their lead in the 59th minute as Dango Ouattara unleashed a powerful strike that crashed against the upright.
However, the home side were reduced to ten men on 70 minutes as Evanilson saw his yellow card upgraded to a straight red after the referee viewed the tackle on the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) monitor.
The Red Devils did take advantage of the numbers game and pulled level in the 96th minute when Rasmus Hojlind bagged a rare goal with clinical finish from close range.
