The three-time African champions boast a star-studded side, which includes the last two CAF Men's Player of the Year winners and players who ply their trade at some of Europe's best clubs. However, it seems that their new coach, Eric Chelle, is trying to strengthen his squad with more world-class talent.
Emerging from the Gunners' youth ranks is Ethan Nwaneri. After becoming the youngest ever player to play in the Premier League three years ago, this season the teenage sensation, in the absence of the club's major attacking talent, has stepped up to provide a threat in the final third for the north Londoners.
The 17-year-old has scored eight goals and provided one assist for Mikel Arteta's side this season. He has already played and scored for the England under-21 side as well this campaign, but now the West African juggernauts are keen to have him play senior international football.
Nwaneri is eligible to represent Nigeria, and Chelle has claimed that he is keen to have the youngster don the famous green jersey of the continental giant.
"During my trip to England (to meet with Super Eagles stars like Alex Iwobi and Wilfred Ndidi), I said I would want Nwaneri to play for Nigeria," Chelle told SCORENigeria.
"I want the NFF to talk to him, and then I will also speak with him."
"It will be hard because England will also want to cap him at full international level.

"But I believe I can convince him because I will speak to him about the game project and where he fits in after the NFF has gotten in touch with him."
