Despite signing Erling Haaland just last season, Manchester City are reportedly already looking to reach a new agreement with the attacker.

According to the Daily Mail, despite the Norwegian inking a lucrative five-year contract worth £400 000 (R9.4 million) a week when he arrived at the Etihad Stadium last season, the Citizens are already keen to tie the forward down for even longer.
Last season, the 23-year-old went on a record-breaking spree as he amassed a staggering 52 goals in all competitions and helped his new club achieve a historic treble.
Consequently, City want to fend off interest from the likes of Real Madrid by rewarding Haaland with a new deal, even if it is only a single-season extension.
Los Blancos have a longstanding interest in the Leeds-born attacker, even trying to sign the striker last season, but ultimately Haaland decided to join Pep Guardiola's side.
The Spanish giants are understood to still be eager to snap up Kylian Mbappe, but have identified the Scandinavian as a potential contingency plan should they fail to land the Frenchman's signature yet again.
City are likely going to have to include a release clause if they are to get Haaland to extend, something that reportedly already exists in his current deal.

With Guardiola recently extending his stay in Manchester, this was said to have nullified the release clause in Haaland's existing contract, and perhaps with the Spaniard further committing his future to the club, his Norwegian talisman may also follow suit.
