Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp's mother sadly passed away in January, with COVID-19 rules preventing him from attending the funeral.
Elisabeth Klopp died at the age of 81 on 19 January, a report in Schwarswalder Bote confirmed on Tuesday afternoon.
"She meant everything to me. She was a real mom in the best sense of the word," the Reds boss told the German publication.
"As a faithful Christian, I know that she is at a better place now."
Klopp himself was not allowed to travel home for the funeral due to COVID-19 restrictions preventing people from the UK entering Germany right now.
"That I cannot attend her funeral is caused by these horrible times," Klopp added.
"As soon as the circumstances allow it, we will give her a beautiful memorial service."
