Liverpool have reportedly begun negotiations with the manager they plan to replace Jurgen Klopp with after the German confirmed his departure earlier this season.

The Reds have been scouring the world to find the man who will usher in a new era as Klopp's eight-and-a-half-year reign at the club approaches its conclusion.
Current Bayer Leverkusen boss, and former Reds midfielder, Xabi Alonso was initially touted to be Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group's top candidate for the job, but after the Spaniard confirmed he would be staying at the BayArena next season, the Merseysiders have been forced to turn their attention elsewhere.
Another manager who was said to be of interest to Liverpool is Sporting CP's manager Ruben Amorim. The 39-year-old Portuguese tactician is also believed to be a target for the likes of Barcelona and Chelsea, but it seems the Reds' have stolen a march on their competitors as he now looks on course to make his way to Anfield next season.
According to Foot Mercato, the six-time European champions have already opened negotiations with the Lisbon native, and he is eager to make the move to the English top flight.

He and Liverpool star Luiz Diaz also have the same agent which may have smoothed things over for talks, but the same report claims that, right now, he is solely focusing on completing the season with the Lions.
