Manchester City have officially announced that their club captain has left the club to join forces with another European giant.

England international Kyle Walker has left the Etihad Stadium to sign for six-time European champions AC Milan on a loan deal for the next 12 months.

Following the Citizens' 8-0 win over Salford City in the FA Cup earlier this month, Pep Guardiola confirmed that his skipper had asked to leave the club. Now, the 34-year-old has gotten his wish, joining one of Italy's most storied clubs.
It is reported that I Rossoneri will cover the Sheffield native's wages, and the Serie A outfit has also included an option to buy, although it is not mandatory.
Walker becomes the latest Englishman to make the move to the San Siro, following in the footsteps of Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Tammy Abraham, and Fikayo Tomori, who have all joined Milan in recent years.

All of City's departures this transfer window have been loan deals, with another right-back, Issa Kaboré, moving to Werder Bremen, while Josh Wilson-Esbrand has joined Stoke City.
