Aston Villa have secured their return to the English Premier League after winning Championship play-off final at Wembley Stadium on Monday afternoon.
Villa secured their spot in the play-off final after seeing off overcoming West Bromwich Albion, while Derby eliminated Leeds United.
The Villains had the upper hand in the opening exchanges, although Frank Lampard's charges remained resolute to thwart any attacks.
The first real opening of the half fell to Villa 10 minutes before the break, although Tammy Abraham's effort sailed narrowly over the bar.
Dean Smith's then eventually made their dominance count when Ahmed El Mohamady's cross found Anwar El Ghazi, who steered the ball into the bottom corner on the stroke of halftime.
The lead was doubled on 59 minutes with El Ghazi playing a key role as Roos failed to hold on to the Dutchman's deflected strike, which allowed John McGinn to slot home from close range.
The Rams pulled a goal back on 82 minutes through Jack Marriott's neat finish into the bottom corner to set up a nervy finish.
However, Villa were able to see out the remaining stages of the half to seal the victory and promotion to the top flight.
Villa will join Norwich City and Sheffield United as the promoted teams in the Premier League next season.
