The Togo international last started a match for the London club over four months ago, on 2 November, and it's been said that Tottenham want to get rid of the striker, who earns £170,000-a-week.
Since his last start, Adebayor has earned £3.4 million in wages, and the Daily Mail reported that the former Arsenal and Manchester City forward has said that he will only leave for Chelsea, or go back to his past employers, Real Madrid.
Adebayor was substituted after 58 minutes the last time he was named in the starting XI, when Harry Kane came on to score his debut English Premier League goal, and since then the Togolese forward has been completely overlooked by Mauro Pochettino.
His manager last gave him a run in March, where he came on when Spurs were 3-0 down to Louis van Gaal's Manchester United.
Spurs reportedly pay the forward £100,000-a-week, while Manchester City still pay Adebayor £70,000-a-week as part of the deal that took him to White Hart Lane.
Adebayor almost joined West Ham on-loan in January, but the deal fell through in the last minutes of the window.
In the 31-year-old's previous spell at Los Blancos, he scored eight goals in 22 games, but the forward has done little to justify a move back to the Spanish giants, or to have attracted attention from Jose Mourinho at Chelsea.

Adebayor has featured 16 times for Spurs this season, scoring two goals and assisting on one occasion.
