The forward admitted that growing up as a Red Devils fan, he used to love watching Thierry Henry play for the Gunners, as well as Ryan Giggs for United.
"It was hard, because I was a United fan and we were playing against Arsenal but it's hard not to like Thierry Henry.
"That's what was so special about him — fans from other teams had to love him because he was that good.
"At the time, all the kids around my area liked Thierry Henry.
"It was great and it was the same with Ryan Giggs.
"I loved watching him for Manchester United."
Welbeck joined rivals Arsenal from the Red Devils at the start of last season for a fee of £14 million, and scored eight goals, while he assisted a further six in his debut campaign.
