Cristiano Ronaldo sets unique record after scoring for Manchester United

Cristiano Ronaldo ended up on the losing side as Manchester United fell to Arsenal, but the Portuguese set an impressive record after scoring at the Emirates Stadium.

It was a disappointing day overall as the 3-1 defeat to rivals Arsenal has seemingly ended their hopes of finishing in the top four this season.

The 37-year-old marked his return to the side with a goal on the day, which was his 100th Premier League goal.

In doing so, Ronaldo became the first player to score a century of goals in the Premier League and LaLiga, as per ESPN.

Ronaldo could have extended his tally in the second half, but decided against taking a penalty according to United interim manager Ralf Rangnick.

"I spoke with him after the game and asked him," Rangnick said, as per Manchester Evening News.

"He said he just didn't feel he should take it and that's why he said it would be better if Bruno took it."
