Being sidelined with a hamstring injury has not stopped Blues skipper Reece James from getting into trouble.
The 23-year-old right-back will now need to serve a one-game suspension and pay a £90 000 (R2.1 million) fine for allegedly directing "improper and/or insulting and/or abusive words" at an official after Chelsea's 1-0 loss to Aston Villa late last month.
With the England international believed to have confronted a match official after the encounter at Stamford Bridge, an independent regulatory commission has subsequently handed down the aforementioned punishment.
"Reece James has been given a one-game suspension and £90 000 fine for breaching FA Rule E3 at Chelsea's Premier League match against Aston Villa on Sunday, 24 September," an official statement from the FA read.
"The defender admitted he used improper, insulting and abusive words and behaviour towards a match official in the tunnel after the final whistle.
"An independent regulatory commission imposed these sanctions following a hearing, and its written reasons for them will be published at the earliest opportunity."

The timeline for the London native's return to the pitch is still ambiguous as he continues to recover from a muscle injury, but what is certain is that he will definitely be unavailable for his side's match against Burnley on Saturday as he serves his suspension.
