United have been linked with a few players this summer, but surprising reports from The Telegraph claim the Red Devils are in talks with the Brazilian.
It's been reported Pato, who plays for Sao Paulo in Brazil, is being chased by several teams in England, including United and Chelsea.
The striker could be available for around £10.9 million, and is said to be keen to make a return to European football.
Now 25 years old, Pato was once considered one of Europe's most promising talents, but injuries unfortunately hindered his progress.
Carlo Ancelotti famously said the Brazilian had what it took be up there with the likes of Ronaldo de Lima and Romario.
