Philippe Coutinho was the star of the show as Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich romped to a 6-1 win over Werder Bremen on Saturday afternoon.
After suffering defeat at Borussia Monchengladbach last weekend, Bayern did not get the start they wanted when Bremen broke the deadlock through Milot Raschica.
However, the home side managed to get back on level terms in the 45th minute thanks to Coutinho's strike, while the Brazilian turned provider four minutes to pick out Robert Lewandowski who fired Bayern in front.
The day was reserved for Coutinho though as the Brazilian midfielder bagged two more goals in the second half to complete his hat-trick after Lewandowski got his second and Thomas Muller got his name on the score-sheet.
Borussia Dortmund were also big winners on Saturday afternoon with a 4-0 thrashing of Mainz at the OPEL Arena.
After a slow start to the encounter, Marco Reus got the scoring underway in the 32 minutes before Jadon Sancho doubled the advantage on 66 minutes.
Thorgan Hazard bagged Dortmund's three minutes later, while Nico Schulz rounded off the scoring for the visitors in the 84th minute.
