Mokwena's future with the Moroccan juggernauts was left up in the air after his agent, Steven Kapeluschnik, revealed that Mokwena and Wydad officials met to discuss the future.
The agreement between all parties was that Mokwena was set to stay with the club until the end of the season before departing.
However, reports from Morocco indicate that Mokwena's alleged departure is fuelled by rumours as Wydad club official Mohamed Talal responded to the misinformation.
Talal said the decision was clear that Mokwena would fulfill his roles until the end of the season and said the board was surprised at the amount of speculation that occurred online, Al Jarida reported.
The spokesperson also revealed that any news that Mokwena and his staff had been unpaid were "baseless" accusations and accused external parties of leaking false information.

Talal revealed that Mokwena sent an official email to the club's president, Hicham Ait Menna, where the former Sundowns coach pledged to lead the team to a top 2 finish and secure qualification to next season's CAF Champions League.
