The football association of an African legend who was recently involved in a horror car accident has provided an update on their Africa Cup of Nations-winning icon's health status.

Former Zambia star Rainford Kalaba was involved in a disastrous car crash two weeks ago in his home nation.
The accident is believed to have occurred as a result of improper overtaking, and while the individual who was driving the Mercedes-Benz died as a result of the collision with the truck, the former winger narrowly left the incident with his life.
The 37-year-old suffered internal injuries that left him in a prolonged coma, but in recent days the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations winner made massive strides in his recovery, including waking up from his coma as well as having his first meal.

Now, the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has provided a further update on the status of 102-cap Chipolopolo legend, suggesting that he is now no longer in hospital.
As per their official X (formerly known as Twitter) account, FAZ released a statement that reads: "Mr. Rainford Kalaba has been discharged from the UTH-Adult where he was admitted after being involved in a road traffic accident two weeks ago.

"Today marks exactly 14 days from the time of his admission. He is going to recuperate at his family home."
